The API developer is responsible for developing integration solutions in the Azure platform. The individual will collaborate with Mativ global teams to deliver accurate information to business users while in alignment with the business solution definition, systems architecture, and development standards for the organization.  This role will interact with analysts, data engineers, cloud solution architects, and IT application team members to participate in the design, development and implementation of global system integration solutions.  The developer will contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards and best practices for all aspects of system integration, especially as it relates to Azure Data Factory, Azure API Management, and APIs in general.

responsibilities:

• Participate in the effort to define, document, deliver and test integration solutions via the Azure Platform while engaging ERP and Cloud integration platforms like SAP CPI, Oracle OCI, Infor ION, and Salesforce Mule Connector
• Integrate and optimize APIs with Mativ data and software applications
• Participate in medium to complex size projects or product teams which may require new or significantly enhanced IT Applications and/or integrations
• Effectively participate in an IT team of diverse individuals that are geographically dispersed through all project lifecycles
• Work closely with data engineers & data architects to evaluate demand and produce estimates
• Report to manager any blockers, issues, and risks that could impede timely delivery of solutions per agreed timelines
• Work with architects to understand business requirements and translate into solutions that provide optimal user experience, particularly related to APIs
• Evaluate, prototype, and propose innovative solutions to identify new or enhanced capabilities to assist with deploying business value-driven solutions

qualifications:

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years overall technical development/experience in Azure Platform including Azure Data Factory & Azure API Management, MuleSoft, Postman, or other API solutions
• Experience designing and developing APIs from specification to implementation in various platforms using Python, Java, and other languages
• Experience with securing APIs using SSL Certificates, Key Vaults, and various authentication methods including Basic, OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect
• Experience in working in a CI/CD environment and familiar with DevOps principles, Azure DevOps preferred
• Familiarity with ERP integration platforms like Oracle OCI, SAP CPI, and Infor ION is a plus
• Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, or Rest-Assured
• Proficiency in understanding/developing data flow & sequence diagrams
• Designing and developing with web services
• Familiarity with API Patterns and design including decomposition into reusable components
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment
