responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Review production schedules in order to plan for QC Lab Test work and testing requirements needed to support Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Effectively communicate changes to procedures and/or intern reaction to customer complaints
  • Implement product quality standards and process controls, including In-Process, Final and Stage II inspection and test, sampling and training procedures
  • Assist in developing Test Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Review and audit production process for conformance to quality standards, set up sheets and product specifications and standards
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in production process: test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and other visual characteristics
  • Perform tests to ensure products meet specifications
  • Confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures
  • Evaluate data and write reports to verify or indicate deviations from existing standards
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis
  • Calibrate equipment, prepare samples and validate production data, retain sample storage
  • Assist in writing procedures as necessary
  • Assist in development and implementation of QC Technician training programs, provide training
  • Conduct testing and generate reports through the Certificate of Analysis process to customers
  • Assist in projects relative to Customer complaints/investigations and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned
 
qualifications
Required Education & Skillsets:  
  • 3 years manufacturing experience with responsibility for testing parts or goods to defined requirements
  • Driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to use a computer; (e.g. manufacturing software, e-mail, Internet)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards and keep accurate records
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to perform multi-tasks in a fast- paced environment
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts including over-time to meet business needs
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g. safety rules, operating or procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence, maintain records, inventories or other logs
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts; percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
  • Ability to travel between facilities or to customers; maintain a good driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively with workers, contractors, supervisors and leaders  
Preferred Education & Skillsets:
  • High School Diploma or GED with some secondary education
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment
Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job the employee must:
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
  • Be able to work 8 - 12 hours shifts
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
  • Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
  • Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks
