Description
Mativ is currently searching for a Finance intern to join our Corporate team next summer. In this role, you will support our business by preparing financial reports, analyses, and forecasts. We are looking for a driven intern with a basic understanding of financial principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Your day-to-day support will serve to inform and ground business decisions that will positively affect Mativ’s future growth.
The Mativ Summer Internship Program is scheduled to start on May 19, 2024 – August 8, 2024. Our paid internship offers a well-rounded experience including: meaningful work, dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development and more.
Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing data clean up that will assist in financial reporting, accruals, and leadership team meetings.
- Extract large amounts of data and synthesize for easy understanding.
- Consistently look at process and identify opportunities for improvement/streamlining.
- Provides analytical support and analysis for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Design, prepare and interpret forward looking business/financial models and other special projects as needed.
- Participate in regular monthly/quarterly financial cycle.
- Support adhoc reports and projects as assigned.
- Support financial integration between legacy companies.
- Assist in month end analysis.
- Standardize formatting and reporting of merchant COGS data.
- Consolidate existing tools for ‘one source of the truth’ (Enhanced Deal Tool).
Qualifications
Required:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
- Minimum GPA-3.0.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills. Experience creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, macros a plus.
- Experience creating and editing presentations in PPT.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High level of discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, perform in a fast-paced environment & respond quickly to situational needs as they arise.
- Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business.
- Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively communicate, and work collaboratively in a team setting.
