The Middletown, DE location is seeking a Material Handler to join its Filtration team.
The Material Handler performs various manual and mechanical duties to move materials and products throughout storage and production areas. Duties include: supplying all production floor with required materials and supply to keep constant flow, unloading raw stock, maintaining storage area organization, operation of forklift, and other similar duties primarily those pertaining to material handling operations. Material Handlers work as a team in a fast-paced environment and are on a rotation schedule. 
 
SHIFT: The schedule has rotating shifts: 1st 7a-7p, Includes weekends. 
 
responsibilities:
 
  • Safely conduct self and job tasks following proper work procedures. 
  • Supplying all production floor with required materials. 
  • Supply to keep constant flow, unloading raw stock, maintaining storage area organization 
  • Operation of forklift, loading and unloading trucks  
  • General housekeeping. 
  • Keep work area clean, neat, organized, and free of any safety hazards. 
     
    qualifications:
    Required
    • 1 + Years consistent in material handling/forklift position 
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions 
    • Ability to take ownership of work and also work as part of a team 
    • Strong attention to detail 
    • Ability to work in a high-volume warehouse with limited space 
    • Ability to use scanning equipment to accurately disposition material 
    • Basic Math, Reading, Writing and Computer skills 
    • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance 
       
      Position Demands  
      Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment: 
      • Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot. 
      • Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors. 
      • May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards. 
      Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including: 
      • Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe) 
      • Safety Glasses 
      • Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks 
      • Hearing Protection, when required 
      • Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks. 
       
      While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands: 
      • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 
      • Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds. 
      • Be able to work 12-hour shifts. 
      • Perform repetitive tasks. 
      • Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk. 
      • Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces. 
      • Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

      The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 per hour
