Description

Primary Responsibilities
•    Lead investigation of near miss and injury incidents and assist with developing and tracking the corrective actions
•    Develop and implement the EHS Training Plans for the site
•    Coordinate and present training programs in general safety and facility training and/or specialty area
•    Drive participation in BBS observations and gather and review data collected to provide site leadership focus on safety activities
•    Conduct safety portion of New Employee Orientation 
•    Ensure site maintains compliance regarding local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental standards and requirements
•    Track and report activities identified by the site Safety & Health Improvement Plan (SHIP)  
•    Coordinate with Plant Manager on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections/audits
•    Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected
•    Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements (OSHA 300, TIER, etc.)
•    Collaborate with Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Maintenance to update needed SOPs as needed to ensure safe work practices and equipment utilization
•    Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety
•    Participate in institutional professional development and training
•    Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related environmental health and safety communications and educational information
•    Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company
•    Provide advice, assistance, and management to ensure that effective EHS processes are implemented  
•    Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach
•    Serve as chair on safety committees/councils
•    Maintain inventory of safety equipment and supplies
•    Support ISO14001 certification activities (if applicable)

•    Prepare and distribute reports on safety metrics such as leading indicators and incident rates. 
•    Hold regular formal department and BU safety reviews. 
•    Maintain and review risk assessments. 
•    Implement risk assessments on all new processes at design and operation stages. 
•    Implement program of training and developing in all aspects of safe working. 
•    Maintain required Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and train employees. 
•    Prepare site security, safety, health, environmental and sustainability objectives and goals in support of the company strategy.
•    Investigate and report workplace accidents.
•    Perform internal safety audits.
•      Facilities knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Compressed Air
•    Maintenance – OEE, Visions systems, automation

Education/Certifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety, or related field
•    2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment leading to environmental and safety compliance is preferred
•    Specific training in OSHA, emergency response, basic first aid, CPR, and use of an AED preferred
•    Safety Certification/s (CSP, ASP, SMS, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CET) a plus
