Position Title: Manager, New Product Development
Location: Dallas, TX
Description:
Our Manager, New Product Development supports Mativ’s Healthcare & Wellness function. This individual will lead product development, formulation, raw material specification generation, cost savings evaluation, and customer technical engagement in our Dallas, TX facility. This position will serve as the primary technical resource for our rapidly growing contract manufacturing operation of medical devices, cosmetics, and OTC products and will contribute to our company growth and intellectual property portfolio. The position is an onsite or hybrid role, reporting to the Global Director of Product Development.
responsibilities:
- Serve as the R&D leader for the Dallas manufacturing site. Engage in new product development, cost savings opportunities, and sustaining innovation. Design product improvements that match customer requirements.
- Establish and review raw material specifications. Provide technical recommendations to internal customers on raw material requirements, quality, and sourcing. Work with ingredient suppliers and distributors.
- Act as the technical liaison with manufacturing, assisting with production challenges, manufacturing process design, and process upgrades.
- Ensure compliance to FDA and EU regulatory standards for cosmetics, OTC products, and medical devices.
- Conduct stability testing of new formulations according to ICH guidelines. Conduct testing for packaging compatibility as needed.
- Review intellectual property opportunities and freedom-to-operate space in our product segment.
- Work with third party testing labs on raw material, safety, and finished goods testing.
- Provide support to the commercial team in communicating with customers.
- Serve as a member of the plant leadership team. Attend required business meetings and customer interactions.
qualifications:
Required
- BS degree in science or engineering discipline
- 5-15 years of experience in cosmetics, liquid formulation, OTC drug products, pharmaceutical products and/or medical devices (or a combination of any).
- Experience using Microsoft Office products required.
- Must be able to read/write professionally in the English language.
- Travel percentage <10%.
Preferred
- MS, or Ph.D degree highly desirable.
- Experience with FDA 10993, 510(k), OTC monographed products; ISO 9001, ISO 13485; and/or EU MDR process.
- PMP or similar project management experience and/or certification.
- Experience with test method validation.
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish language.
