Position Title: Product Marketing Manager
location: Alpharetta, Georgia (hybrid) / Neenah, WI (hybrid)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Consumer Products team, as a Product Marketing Manager. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a product management role in consumer products sold into various channels of distribution. This role is in our Alpharetta, GA or Neenah, WI and reports to the Senior Product Manager.

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
New Product Development
- Assist in identifying and developing plans to address unmet consumer needs validated through consumer research. Lead efforts in assigned categories to ideate, filter, scope and initiate new product ideas.
- Project manage new product development programs, driving the cross-functional team to on-time, on-cost and on-quality execution.
- Translate marketplace trends and chooser insights into actionable recommendations for innovative growth and new product ideas.
- Gain leadership alignment by building a robust business case to support innovation efforts, ensuring alignment to category strategy.
- Articulate product positioning and sources of differentiation by channel
- Establishes clear objectives for packaging development projects, processes and necessary deliverables.
- Collaborates with internal / external teams on effective briefing and process management for assigned packaging programs.
Product Life Cycle Planning and Management
- Support efforts to manage the product portfolio including analysis related to adding, growing and exiting categories, sub-categories and SKUs.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to execute and communicate category inventory targets. Collaborate to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to discover and execute cost reduction initiatives that do not negatively impact the end user experience.
- Ability to provide quantitative and qualitative inputs for the development of business cases and other financial assessments.
Pricing, Profitability and Financial Acumen
- Provide analytical support to assess growth and profitability of assigned category and product segments, recommend initiatives based on that analysis.
- Analyzes shopper insights and market data to set pricing objectives, strategies and guardrails for key SKUs or categories. Applies price modeling information to manage price. Utilizes product, pack configurations and brand architecture to exploit price ladder.
- Work cross-functionally to identify growth and operational efficiency opportunities for the category.
- Develop and display an understanding of what drives category performance, execute a variety of activities that support category P&L improvement.
- Analyze category P&L and recommend corrective actions to improve results against business commitments, support recommendations with strong business rationale.
- Partner with sales team to drive partnerships with key retail and distribution partners to achieve desired financial results.
Understand and Translating Category Insights
- Build and maintain a robust assessment of current marketplace conditions.
- Maintain a constant pulse on end user trends, chooser/user needs, competitive offerings and brand positioning.
- Educate others on the end user and marketplace.
Brand Stewardship
- Partner with Brand Marketing, Marketing Services and agency partners to execute commercialization plans that support brand plans and programs.
- Collaborate with brand team to maintain accurate marketing content on an ongoing basis.
Customer Intimacy:
- Collaborates with Sales partners regarding base business, renovation and innovation strategies and plans, pricing, line reviews and internal sales management.
- Provide expertise, input and presentation deck materials particular to strategy and marketing management accountabilities.
- Support sales team members with ad hoc requests.
qualifications:
Required
- Four-year college degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of marketing experience, consumer, product and/or brand marketing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success with new product launches from concept stage through commercialization and in-market success.
- Critical and analytical thinker with skills to deliver desired financial results and managing overall category everyday business decisions. Consistently striving to meet or beat expectations despite the circumstances.
- Ability to lead and instill trust with cross-functional project teams. Comfortable owning projects from start to finish and holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
- Strong decision-making and demonstrated success working in a matrix organization. Able to make sense of complex information to solve problems.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communications skills and professional presence.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time manager
- Experience setting pricing strategies and guardrails and managing price to extract maximum value
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable working in Excel with ability to analyze and translate data into insights and recommended actions.
- CPG and/or Manufacturing experience
