Our Process Engineer II supports Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. This individual will be responsible for determining operations to produce products and develop processes to ensure quality, cost, safety, and efficiency requirements are met. This position troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action. The process engineer also researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment. This position is basked in Windsor, CT, and reports to the Engineering Manager
responsibilities:
- Create, configure, and optimize continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization.
- Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.
- Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve working closely with senior level engineers.
- Confers with vendors and customers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Execute CAD or SolidWorks mechanical drawings.
- Confers with establishment personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
- Tests the ability of machines to perform tasks.
- Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards.
- Establishes, recommends, and implements process documentation.
- Interfaces with manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
- Develop and document work instructions for each work center.
- Develop and document BOM (Bill of materials) for all processed products at all process steps.
- Follows safety rules and keeps work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Estimate production costs.
- Develop and lead capital investment projects.
- Establish and lead platform organic growth engineering application projects.
- Conduct equipment and process validations in establishing repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Identify and realize continuous improvement projects aligned with financial budget savings.
- Develop and implement metrics to monitor and improve process performances.
- Execute risk assessments.
- Complies with company attendance policies.
- Other duties as assigned by Site leader or Process Engineering manager.
qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 3+ years previous engineering experience in manufacturing environment
- Process analysis skills.
- Experience working with outside contractors.
- Experience interfacing with customers.
- Proficient analytical skills.
- SAP (or related ERP) System experience.
