Production Planner II

Description:

As a Production Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient and timely production within Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions function. You’ll develop and maintain production schedules, optimize machine utilization through SAP, and collaborate with global teams to align demand planning. This role is critical to meeting customer needs, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting site profitability. 

Located in Windsor, CT, this position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and contributes to continuous improvement efforts and site profitability.

 

Responsibilities:

Production Planning

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate intercompany demand planning with global teams for alignment and accuracy.
  • Support SAP planning initiatives, including machine utilization, to optimize production capacity and improve site profitability.
  • Monitor work center capacity and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency and throughput.

Inventory & Order Management

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels and safety stock to meet customer demand.
  • Confirm and process commercial sales orders; manage purchase orders to ensure timely execution.
  • Collaborate with buyers and procurement to adjust incoming materials based on production schedules and demand fluctuations.

Operational Coordination

  • Partner with operations to prioritize workflow and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide material availability and delivery updates to Customer Care; support order promising based on inventory and production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Plan/Procure & Warehouse teams to execute end-to-end subcontracting processes.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report service metrics (OTIF); prepare daily operational updates as needed.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure production readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.

Additional Support

  • Provide backup support for planners and other team members during PTO or absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and skill level of the role.

 

Qualifications.

Required

  • 3+ years of production planning experience in manufacturing.
  • 3+ years in end-to-end supply chain processes (Source, Plan, Make, Deliver).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or equivalent; experience
  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards); strong understanding of MRP concepts.
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.

Preferred

  • SAP Planning experience
  • Advanced Excel Skills (XLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis, Visualization)
  • APICS or other professional Supply Chain/Planning certification
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
