Senior Project Leader

Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, UK (Onsite)

We are looking for a Senior Project Leader to join our Innovation & Technical Development team and play a key role in delivering new product and process developments that drive growth, improve profitability, and enhance product performance across our business.

Reporting to the R&D Director, you will lead technical development projects from concept through to commercialization, working closely with manufacturing, quality, commercial, and technical teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically curious and commercially aware professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with customers, and bringing innovative products to market.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and coordinate multiple technical projects of varying complexity, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, and objectives.
• Plan, design, and execute product and process development trials, identifying key process variables and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive new product development activities from concept through scale-up and commercialization.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers, providing technical support and helping resolve material and process-related challenges.
• Evaluate new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the innovation pipeline.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, commercial, and technical teams to deliver robust and commercially successful solutions.
• Support root cause investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and business-critical problem-solving activities.
• Ensure projects and product introductions comply with internal quality standards, including ISO 9001 requirements.
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, design reviews, and business cases to stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional project teams, managing risks and driving effective decision-making throughout project lifecycles.

What We're Looking For

• Degree, HND, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience within a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading technical projects and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Direct customer-facing experience and the ability to provide technical support to external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a structured approach to project management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 9001.
• Experience in process development, scale-up, and commercialization activities.
• Experience conducting manufacturing trials and process optimization projects.

• Occasional UK and international travel may be required.
