Planner-Production Planning

The Production Planner works in Mativ’s Planning department and manages the planning process, ensuring product is scheduled, communicated, and effectively planned to meet the needs of customers. The Planner will schedule manufacturing assets, work cross-functionally with sales, customer service, marketing, and operations teams, while collaborating with other production planners to meet business needs. As a highly valued member of the organization, production planners drive continuous improvement activities that directly impact company success. The Planner is expected to work on-site.

Responsibilities:  

  1. Prepare daily schedules for assets within the production facilities in the ERP/MRP system, balancing Mativ’s uncompromised service, while optimizing the operational efficiency of the production assets.
  2. Manage the short-term and medium-term capacity outlook of assets, recognizing bottlenecks to proactively problem solve.
  3. Collaborate with operations leaders to attain desired staffing levels, including overtime requests and down time, for each asset on a weekly basis.
  4. Manage the inventory strategy to deliver the gold standard in service at the lowest inventory cost.
  5. Make rerouting and outsourcing decisions to offload overcapacity assets by developing and maintaining outside service provider (OSP) relationships and schedules.
  6. Collaborate with the customer service team, providing competitive dates for requested business, as well as ensuring promised dates and quantities are fulfilled.
  7. Works collaboratively with the planning team to problem-solve, provide backup coverage, support team-members, and share ideas.
  8. Generate work and purchase orders in response to demand received on a regular basis.
  9. Work with our sales and marketing team on marketing initiatives affecting manufacturing sites – including seasonal fluctuations, new product launches, etc.
  10. Assist our Research and Development team in scheduling trials to unlock new growth potential.
  11. Adapt to changing business needs, and understanding the levers needed to execute to exceed the goals set forth by the company.
  12. Partner with other supply chain functions to execute continuous improvement efforts.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or Supply Chain Management degree preferred.
  • Understanding inventory management and demand planning methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to view, use, modify, and analyze reports.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of personal drive.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong organizational skills.
