POSITION: IT Support Technician I

LOCATION: Orangeburg, NY

Whether you're setting up new user workstations or troubleshooting network issues, you'll be essential in keeping our infrastructure running smoothly.

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Support Technician I is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining IT infrastructure across various company locations. This entry-level role includes assisting with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, supporting end users, tracking and deploying IT assets, and ensuring adherence to IT policies and standards. The technician will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure reliable and efficient IT operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·    On-site Technical Support. Provide on-site technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

  • Troubleshooting Skills. Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Desktop support. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
  • End User Support. Provide end-user support for new user setups.
  • Asset Management. Manage IT assets, including inventory tracking, deployment, and disposal.
  • Collaboration. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of IT services.
  • Site Visits. Conduct regular site visits to assess and address IT needs and issues.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT projects and initiatives at various locations.
  • Documentation. Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and support activities.
  • Train Users. Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT systems and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Entry Level to 3+ years of experience in IT support or field operations.
  • Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various company locations as needed.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May require lifting and transporting IT equipment.
  • Up to 25% travel to company sites.
  • On-call support may be required outside standard business hours.
  • Regular interaction with senior management at manufacturing locations.
