Location: Munising, MI

 

Description:
The Quality Management Representative supports Quality Assurance activities for the Munising Mill, along with some production from other mill sites. This includes customer technical support, complaint resolution, specification management and ISO 9001:2015 compliance for the facility. Ideal candidates have the attitude, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills to support Mativ’s collaborative, high-achievement culture.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the customer PQC (Product Quality Claims) process. 
    • Capture necessary details to allow for a complete investigation of customer concerns.
    • Actively liaise between customers, sales, marketing and mill personnel to ensure timely and relevant investigations and responses to customers. 
    • Track all PQCs and be able to provide accurate trending information and historical data.  Initiate actions to address identified concerns.
    • Process customer claim-related credit requests and returns.
    • Complete monthly accruals.
  • Coordinate activities to maintain ISO compliance to 9001:2015. 
    • Manage/assist in managing the ISO processes; coordinate and execute both internal and external audits.
    • Coordinate quality management reviews and publish meeting notes per the standard. 
    • Update all related quality policies, manuals and work instructions as needed. 
    • Assist with appropriate routing and sign-off on all specification change requests and new procedures.
  • Issue and monitor CAPA’s (correction actions/preventative actions); ensure measures are in place to prevent reoccurrence of issues.
  • Manage and track vendor complaints; collect and submit necessary data and samples; follow up as needed; address recurring issues.
  • Develop and distribute information for monthly quality meetings and weekly published updates.
  • Trend and analyze quality data.
  • Process grade deactivations.
  • Participate in problem solving sessions and sample inspections.
  • Develop customer relationships and technical knowledge on product use. Participate in onsite customer visits and occasional visits to customer facilities.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • A bachelor’s or associate degree is preferred but not required.  
  • Customer-focused work experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to efficiently and accurately process a high volume of detailed workload.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Excel, Word, and Power Point).
  • Previous paper industry experience is a distinct plus.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP system is a distinct plus.
