Quality Intern

The Quality Engineer Intern/Co-op will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager at our Plant inMinneapolis to ensure that product quality meets our customer and company specified requirements. The QualityEngineer Intern/Co-op will be responsible for final disposition of product which complies with specifications.Additionally, the Quality Engineer Intern/Co-op will verify the quality test results obtained by production staff, assistwith development of manufacturing work instructions, final product testing processes, production validationmethods, and product certification documents. The Quality Engineer Intern/Co-op will lead investigations into theroot cause of assigned internal nonconformances and customer complaints.


Primary Responsibilities:
Verify recorded machine start-up parameters against parameters documented in Standard OperatingConditions documentation. If differences exist, highlight the differences, understand the cause(s) of thedifferences and work with the operations team resolve the differences.
Verify test data from 1st roll of each production batch. Highlight differences between data results or work withother members of the plant staff to resolve.
Audit roll level production test results during production runs. Highlight any differences between the testresults and understand the root cause of the differences. Work with plant personnel to resolve thosedifferences.
Monitor line start up process and product change process. Serve as a resource for the production team if theyhave questions regarding testing. Assist with the technical escalation process as needed to resolve the issueor assist production team obtain the required authority to discontinue production.
Lead a technical team assigned to review and disposition internal nonconforming materials in a timelymanner. Summarize the team’s final disposition and the rationale for that decision. Investigate the root causefor the nonconforming materials and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, conduct investigations into the root cause of assigned customercomplaints. Develop and implement corrective actions to eliminate root cause and prevent recurrence. Verifyeffectiveness of the implemented corrective actions. Report results of the investigation to the customer.
Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Individual must be currently enrolled and working toward a degree with a concentration in Quality Assurance,Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Managerment or Quality Management.
Student will need to have completed a minimum of 1-full year of course work with preference for individualswho have completed 2-full years.
Preference is a minimum 3.0 GPA in your academic field of study.
Must have solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve ourbusiness.
Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively synthesize andcommunicate findings, and work collaboratively in a team setting.
