MN Maintenance Mechanic

We currently have exciting career opportunities available for Maintenance Mechanics at our high-profile Minneapolis, MN union plant location.

The work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 3:00PM, with substantial opportunity for overtime. Required to rotate on-call weeks, not to exceed one week in three.

The ideal candidate should have a mindset of safety, a can-do attitude and a habit of taking the initiative!

Primary responsibilities:

  • Follow safety policies, best practices and established procedures to ensure employee safety, high quality workmanship and operational efficiency.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on production lines & related systems throughout a unique manufacturing facility.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment encompassing mechanical, fluid power and pneumatic systems.
  • Remove and install mechanical equipment & systems to support plant repairs and upgrades.
  • Inventory and organize spare parts and consumables to ensure accurate ordering and minimized downtime.
  • Respond to line or equipment breakdowns in a timely and professional manner, applying excellent troubleshooting skills and a high degree of mechanical aptitude.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments & coworkers to provide status updates and enable effective collaboration.
  • Fabricate spare parts and repair existing bespoke parts using layout, welding, machining and other fabrication skills.
  • Repair and maintain an industrial facility, including office and ancillary equipment.

What sets you apart:

  • Working knowledge of LOTO, confined space procedures, OSHA regulations.
  • Hydraulic system repair and rebuild experience.
  • Machine shop experience including turret mill, lathe, precision measurement and blueprint/drawing reading.
  • Extensive experience with pneumatic & vacuum systems
  • Plastic injection molding or other plastic production experience.
  • Experience or certification with rigging and lifting.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Excel
  • Experience with formal failure analysis tools
  • Millwright experience or certification

Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer use, including email and office programs
  • Ability to work independently and logically problem-solve
  • Strong communication skills
  • Personal tools, including a wide selection of basic hand tools
