Position Title: Research and Development Intern
Location: Middletown, DE
Description: We are actively pursuing an intern with Chemical Engineering or Nonwoven background to complete a 10 plus week internship program at our Middletown plant starting in May 2026. The internship will provide exposure to many aspects of research and development, including a multi-functional team setting, real time production, process experience and project work with specific deliverables and exposure to the manufacturing environment. Interns will participate in daily R&D activities to learn technical properties and quality issues of nonwoven media.
Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business. Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively communicate, and work collaboratively in a team setting
SHIFT: The schedule is 1st shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
responsibilities:
- Work with R&D team on process efficiency improvements, cost savings, new business development projects and/or technology advancement.
- Work with scientists, engineers and identify properties of the different kind of nonwoven filter media.
- Hands on testing for the various properties for the filter media.
- Participate in new customer trials.
- Work with leadership to modify or create standard operating procedures.
- Project work as assigned by R&D management
qualifications:
Required
- Individual must be currently enrolled and working toward a degree with a concentration in Chemical Engineering or Textile Engineering discipline.
- Student will need to have completed a minimum of 1-full years of course work with preference for individuals who have completed 2-full years.
- Any experience in the field of filtration media or testing non wovens is a huge advantage.
- Preference is a minimum 3.0 GPA in your academic field of study.
- Must have solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
