The Supply Chain Manager plays a key role in aligning demand, supply, and inventory strategies to support manufacturing operations and customer service objectives. This role leads supply planning execution and inventory management while supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure demand forecasts, production capacity, and material availability remain aligned. Working under the direction of the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the position partners cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and commercial teams to balance service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency. This role provides leadership and direction to the buyer and production planning teams to ensure effective execution of procurement, material planning, and inventory management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop buyer and production planning teams to ensure effective execution of procurement, material planning, and inventory management processes.
- Develop and maintain strategic supply plans that align forecasted demand with manufacturing capacity and material availability.
- Translate demand forecasts into production and material requirements through ERP/MRP planning systems.
- Support and help drive the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process including supply reviews, risk identification, and scenario planning.
- Provide supply and inventory analysis to support executive S&OP decision making.
- Monitor capacity utilization, supply constraints, and demand variability to proactively identify supply risks and mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain inventory strategies including safety stock levels, service level targets, inventory segmentation, and MRP planning parameters.
- Drive improvements in inventory performance including inventory turns, working capital optimization, and reduction of excess or obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure raw material availability and visibility to long-term demand requirements.
- Track and report key supply chain metrics including service levels, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, capacity utilization, and production plan adherence.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning discipline, data integrity, and system utilization.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership experience in a supply chain, planning, or operations environment preferred.
- Direct experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP planning systems.
Skills
- Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving capabilities.
- Deep understanding of supply planning, inventory optimization, and demand variability.
- Ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders across operations, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
