This entry-level Maintenance Co-op offers hands-on experience in facility maintenance, equipment care, and operational support. Incumbents will work alongside experienced technicians and gain practical skills across a variety of equipment used in the paper-making and finishing process.  Based on interest, there are two learning paths this role can follow:  Electrical and/or Process Controls (Technical). 

Responsibilities:

• Safely conduct self and job tasks following proper work procedures
• Assist with preventive maintenance on machinery and production systems
• Support troubleshooting and minor repairs under the supervision of experienced technicians
• Learn to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Help maintain shop organization, inventory of spare parts, and cleanliness of work areas
• Document maintenance activities and report equipment issues promptly
• Participate in safety inspections and follow all manufacturing safety protocols
• Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure reliable team support
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
• Engage in training sessions to build technical knowledge and understand lean manufacturing principles 

Competencies:

• Currently enrolled in a technical, vocational, or engineering program (mechanical, electrical, industrial preferred)
• Interest in manufacturing operations and equipment maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills 

Qualifications:

• Age 18+
• Pursuing a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
