Our process engineer supports Mativ’s Healthcare and Wellness Segment. This individual will develop processes, troubleshoot and improve existing equipment, and continuously improve validated methods for the manufacture of medical devices and products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with operations, safety, and quality personnel to ensure design for manufacturability, identifying equipment, and developing processes required to manufacture new and existing products.
- Creating and maintaining process documentation.
- Managing projects, developing timelines, writing protocols, and overseeing validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) to existing quality processes and equipment in a FDA-regulated environment.
- Developing alternate processing methods to test the feasibility of new applications of components and recommending the implementation of improved procedures.
- Testing the ability of machines to perform needed tasks.
- Interfacing with operations and quality to address and resolve engineering issues.
- Collecting and analyzing data and equipment specifications to establish production standards.
- Conferring with vendors to determine product specifications and arranging the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluating products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Responsible for CAD and other product/equipment specifications.
- Responsible for ordering and inventory of machine tooling and spare parts.
- Interacting with customers to develop new product designs and improve existing ones.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 5 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of CAD software
- Microsoft Office competence
Perferred
- Medical Device or FDA regulation experience
- Rotary Conversion experience
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Minitab experience
Position Demands
Conditions are those of a manufacturing environment:
- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards.
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including:
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety Glasses
- Bump Caps
- Protective Gloves, when performing specific tasks
- Hearing Protection, when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for specific tasks.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must meet the physical demands:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
