JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, R&D Technician works directly with R&D engineer in all facets of product development.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Blends polymer mixes for lab trials and maintains detailed recordkeeping of blends and process conditions.

Operates pilot blown and cast extrusion equipment, including set up of tooling.

Maintains R&D inventory
-
Performs routine tests necessary for R&D trials.

Documentation of trial observations.

Maintaining R&D samples and files.
-
Assist in commercial product trials
-
Interface with customers during pilot trials
-
Maintain general housekeeping and safety practices.

May perform as back up to production as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Skillsets:
-
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
-
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
-
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
