The Role
The principal responsibility is to deliver best practice Supply Chain advantages across Ashton & Bolton sites through the proactive identification and execution of cost-out and cash optimisation opportunities, delivery of supply chain best practices and processes (including S&OP), and support New Product Development activities.
Full responsibility for the tactical Procurement, Purchasing, Planning & Logistics functions while supporting the site leader for ad hoc requests.
Role focus is anticipated to be primarily Ashton & Bolton focused but it can be that there will be projects for the whole MATIV Group.
The Key Responsibility Areas are as follows:
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy
• Drive through and deliver Year-on-year savings in terms of the site and Company P&L, net working capital and supply chain optimisation.
• In close collaboration with other Site teams and Global Category team, using continuous improvement tools, lead and implement sustainable supply chains, ensuring continuity of supply and optimisation of lead times, MOQs, inventory, payment terms and other key supply chain parameters.
• Work with Global Category Managers in the management of the tier 1 Strategic vendors.
• Proactively drive out costs in the direct materials, packaging, Logistics and indirect area.
• Eliminate risk and optimise opportunities in all dealings with external suppliers and supply chains, whilst ensuring adherence to MATIV code of conduct and corporate social responsibility.
• Provide all appropriate Procurement support to site R&D, production sites, Commercial teams and other key stakeholders in New Product Development (NPD), product substitutions and other growth opportunities.
• Responsible for the site Supply Chain SAP information, ensuring accuracy and completion in line with Data Base Group requirements.
• Responsible for the Supply Chain elements of the budget and forecasting activities, and for all site Supply Chain reporting.
Skills & Competencies required
The ideal applicant will have the confidence to work in a manufacturing environment, with internal clients who are dedicated professionals. You will need the following essential skills:
• Proven skills in Communication, negotiation and initiative as well as proven success in operating within a Global and Matrix organisation.
• Proven track record in achieving cost savings and improvements in other supply chain metrics
• Tenacious and proactive attitude
• Proven analytical capability
• SAP Knowledge would be a plus, if not this can be compensated by a high interest in learning a new ERP system
• Experience in people management
• Experience in planning in advanced manufacturing organizations
• Ability to embrace change and lead change management program
• Fluency in English language
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Background
Any successful application will need the following skills and experience:
• Formal Qualification/Certification in Supply Chain
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, planning or logistics for a manufacturing unit
• Proven Manager/Leader in development of logistics / supply chain tools, techniques and practices, but at the same time hands on
• Proven track record in delivering results
• Proven experience of working in a matrix organisation.
• Proven experience of continuous improvement techniques (ie, lean methodology) and of introducing and utilizing these tools towards internal customers
