We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our manufacturing site in Ashton, UK.

As one of two Process Engineers on site, you will be the technical expert responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Working across mixing, extrusion, calendering, coating, slitting, and packaging operations, you will play a key role in improving efficiency, reducing variability, and supporting business growth.

What You Will Do:

• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all EHS requirements
• Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to achieve quality, productivity, and delivery targets
• Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Develop and track key performance indicators such as Yield, Variability, Velocity, Run-to-Target, and Rework
• Identify and implement process, automation, and efficiency improvements
• Manage process modifications through the Mativ Management of Change process
• Establish and sustain operational standards, SOPs, and best practices
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accreditation standards
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and EHS teams
• Develop and coach operational teams to enhance performance and capability
• Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
• Partner with Process Engineers across the global Mativ network to share best practices

What We are Looking For

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to lead root cause investigations and drive sustainable improvements
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data analysis tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on approach with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
