We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building performance, utilities, compliance, and essential services across our manufacturing sites in Ashton-under-Lyne and Bolton.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, UK Industrials (Ashton & Bolton), you will lead the facilities function across both sites and manage one direct report, the Site Services Engineer.

You will play a critical role in ensuring our infrastructure, utilities, and compliance standards support both day-to-day operations and long-term business growth. Working closely with EHS, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, and HR teams, you will drive performance, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe working environment for employees, visitors, and contractors while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Lead site facilities activities including:
• Fire safety systems and risk assessments
• Utilities management (gas, electricity, boilers, compressed air)
• Legionella, asbestos and DSEAR compliance
• Building maintenance, HVAC, CCTV, grounds maintenance and pest control
• Insurance inspections and loss prevention activities
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives.
• Drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Develop and track KPIs to improve performance and service delivery.
• Lead technical CAPEX and OPEX projects.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement across both sites.
• Manage supplier and contractor performance, ensuring service level agreements are achieved.
• Coach and develop your team while supporting operational excellence across the business.

About You

We're looking for a facilities leader with a strong technical background and experience in a manufacturing environment.

Essential qualifications & experience:

• 7+ experience managing utilities, building services, and infrastructure projects
• HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
• Proven experience leading Facilities or Maintenance teams within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
• Budget management and cost optimisation experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable qualifications:

• NEBOSH
• BOAS
• High Voltage qualification
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and Permit to Work systems
• Experience managing contractors and external suppliers
