Quality Engineer – Integrated Management System

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead the maintenance, development, and continuous improvement of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for internal and external audits, supplier quality assurance, change management, and compliance with sustainability and traceability requirements related to EDANA and EUDR.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Management System (IMS)

  • Maintain, develop, and continuously improve the organization's Integrated Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate, customer, and industry requirements.
  • Manage and update procedures, work instructions, specifications, and quality records.
  • Coordinate management system reviews, performance indicators, and improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Change Management

  • Lead the Change Management process for modifications affecting products, processes, raw materials, suppliers, equipment, facilities, and systems.
  • Assess quality, regulatory, operational, and business risks associated with proposed changes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews and approvals required for change implementation.
  • Ensure all documentation, training, validations, and approvals are completed prior to implementation.
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of implemented changes through performance indicators and follow-up activities.

EDANA and EUDR Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable EDANA standards and requirements.
  • Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements.
  • Manage due diligence, traceability, and sustainability-related documentation and processes.
  • Support internal and external audits related to sustainability, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory expectations.

Audits

  • Develop, implement, and manage the annual internal audit program.
  • Conduct system, process, and product audits.
  • Coordinate external audits performed by certification bodies, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare audit reports and ensure effective follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify the effectiveness of implemented actions and drive continuous improvement.

Supplier Quality Assurance

  • Develop and manage supplier qualification, approval, and performance monitoring programs.
  • Conduct quality and sustainability audits of national and international suppliers.
  • Manage supplier non-conformities, corrective actions, and escalation processes.
  • Lead supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and ensure compliance with quality and sustainability requirements.

Risk Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Apply risk assessment methodologies to processes, projects, and product changes.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in strategic projects related to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Additional training or certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, or Management Systems are desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality-related positions within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience managing Integrated Management Systems.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and managing external audits.
  • Strong background in Supplier Quality Assurance and supplier auditing.
  • Experience in Change Management and risk assessment processes.

Technical Knowledge

  • ISO 9001 and other relevant management system standards.
  • Audit methodologies and auditing techniques.
  • Risk management and root cause analysis tools.
  • Continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of EDANA requirements and EUDR regulations is highly desirable.
  • Document control and change management processes.
